Sewer Pipe Bursting & Sewer Line Replacement at Howlett Avenue, Newmarket, ON

Project Overview
The existing underground sewer line at this Howlett Avenue property in Newmarket had deteriorated and required replacement to restore reliable drainage toward the municipal sewer connection. Due to the length and location of the damaged line, trenchless pipe bursting was selected to replace approximately 40 feet of sewer pipe while reducing the amount of surface excavation required.
Work Completed
The Pryde Group Corp. crew replaced approximately 40 feet of the existing underground sewer line using trenchless pipe bursting technology. Inside the property, approximately 5 feet of sewer pipe was also replaced and connected to the existing plumbing system.
Outside, our team excavated two access pits needed for the pipe bursting operation. Because of the location and depth of the sewer connection, underground tunneling was also completed toward the city side to reach the required connection point while limiting additional surface excavation.
The new sewer line was installed with the required fittings and secure connections. Gravel bedding was then added to support the new piping, and the excavated areas were prepared for backfilling and final restoration.
