Sewer Line Replacement & Drainage Upgrade at Grantham Ave, St. Catharines, ON

Project Overview
The sewer and basement drainage system at this Grantham Ave property in St. Catharines required a comprehensive upgrade. The project included replacement of the deteriorated sewer line, renewal of old interior underground drainage piping, and improvements to basement flood protection and groundwater management. Trenchless pipe bursting was used for the exterior sewer replacement to minimize excavation around the property.
Work Completed
The Pryde Group Corp. crew replaced approximately 25 feet of the existing sewer line using trenchless pipe bursting technology and installed a new exterior downstream cleanout to provide convenient access for future sewer camera inspections, cleaning, and maintenance.
Inside the basement, approximately 30 feet of old underground drainage pipe was replaced. The drainage system was further upgraded with a new floor drain, bathroom drain connections, a backwater valve, and a new sump pump and sump pit system.
Our team also excavated an additional section near the foundation and connected the existing weeping tile system to the new sump pit. This allows groundwater collected around the exterior foundation to drain into the sump system and be pumped safely away from the home.
The new underground piping was installed with proper gravel bedding, and the interior work areas were prepared for concrete restoration after completion of the drainage upgrades.
