Sump Pump, Backwater Valve & Weeping Tile Connection at Rykert Street, St. Catharines, ON

This Rykert Street property in St. Catharines required a basement drainage and flood protection upgrade to better manage groundwater around the foundation and reduce the risk of sewer backup. The project combined a new sump pump system, backwater valve, and connection from the exterior weeping tile system to provide a more complete drainage solution.

The Pryde Group Corp. crew opened the basement floor and prepared the drainage area for installation of a new sump pit, sump pump, and backwater valve. The surrounding drainage components were installed with proper gravel bedding to provide support and allow for effective water movement.

Our team also created a new connection between the existing exterior weeping tile system and the sump pit. This allows groundwater collected around the foundation to be directed into the sump pump system and discharged away from the home.

After the drainage modifications were completed, the work area was prepared for proper concrete restoration. The upgraded system now provides improved groundwater management and additional basement protection against flooding and sewer backup.
